It’s been a hectic year for photographers, but we’re just getting started. The next few years will be jam-packed with photography-related events.
World Press Photo
This year’s World Press Photo contest is sure to be a doozy. This year’s contest theme is “The Moment.” The contest received more than 6,600 images submitted by 306 photographers from 120 countries. The winners will be announced in a ceremony at the Grand Theater of the Brussels World Heritage site on December 6, 2023.
The categories range from breaking news to sports, portraits, food, and travel to reportage, among others. The World Press Photo contest is an annual initiative to identify, honor, and celebrate the world’s best photography. Judges are journalists and photographers from around the world who are asked to select images that best represent the contest’s unique mix of news, documentary, portrait, and advertising photography.
Image Summit
Image Summit is a photography conference and trade show that takes place in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event attracts thousands of photographers, photo editors, and commercial photography clients. Image Summit will host its 23rd-anniversary event from March 31 to April 4, 2023. This year’s theme is “Unleashed.” The summit was first held in 1994 and has since grown to be one of the most important photography trade shows in the world.
Photography Show Tokyo
This exhibition and conference take place in Tokyo, Japan. An event is a great place for photographers to meet other professionals, learn about the latest techniques, and explore the latest products. Photography Show Tokyo’s first conference was held in 2006 and has since featured a diverse range of conferences and exhibitions. Its theme for 2020 is “Explosive Times.”
If you’re planning on visiting the show, be sure to check out Tokyo’s photography scene. This city is home to some truly incredible photographers. Tokyo’s art scene is famous for its street art, which often features photography. If you’re up for a little adventure, photography-themed art is often found on trains, billboards, and buildings around the city.
Photokina Cologne, Germany
Photokina Cologne is the world’s largest exhibition and conference for photography, video, and imaging. The event takes place in Cologne, Germany, and attracts more than 80,000 professionals and business customers from around the world. Its focus is on product and technology innovation.
Photokina regularly features a large number of new, or upcoming, products. The conference is also a great place to meet, or network with, industry leaders. Photokina’s theme for 2020 is “Exploration.” This year’s exhibition will feature more than 4,000 brands and exhibitors. Photokina is expecting to welcome more than 650,000 visitors from more than 90 countries.
Fashion Week New York City
This fashion and photography event takes place in New York City. The event features a runway show, trade show, and networking opportunities. There are also many opportunities for photographers to exhibit their work and sell their prints. This event is hosted by FIT. The event’s theme for 2020 is “Radiant.” Fashion Week is expecting to welcome more than 70,000 attendees from more than 90 countries.
Adobe Summit in San Francisco- and the list goes on
Adobe Summit is an annual conference focused on the future of creativity. As an Adobe partner, photographers are invited to exhibit their work and meet with industry leaders. The conference is organized by Adobe and takes place in San Francisco, California. Adobe Summit’s theme for 2020 is “Making the Future.” At this year’s conference, there are sessions on AI, blockchain, 3D printing, and more.
The conference is also an excellent opportunity to meet with Adobe sales and marketing representatives. There are many other photography-related events worth mentioning.
